Sevastopol School District has partnered with Door County Medical Center to provide care to your children while at school. Our main goal is keeping kids safe, healthy, and ready to learn. We look forward to working with you and your children this year.
School Nurse Role
As the school nurses, we would like to let you know what our role is as part of the educational team:
- Identifying students who may need health related services.
- Developing the individualized health plans and Health Alerts.
- Assist the educational team in developing the Individual Educational Plan.
- Assess the student’s sensory/physical health status with the assistance of parent(s)/guardian and health care providers.
- Assist the parent/guardian/teachers to identify and utilize community resources.
- Provide in-service training for teachers and staff regarding the individual health needs of the student.
As parents/guardians, I need to rely on you to keep me up to date with how your child is doing medically. Please call and let me know if your child is hospitalized, having surgery, changes in medication or if they have been ill longer than 2 days. I look forward to hearing from you.
