Homeless Liaison

Program/Service Description:

Services for students who have been displaced and do not have permanent housing are eligible for services under the McKinney-Vento Act established in 1987.  This act ensures that eligible students whose families are facing economic hardship are able to attain a level of stability by being able to remain in their current educational setting (“school of origin”).  Other provisions of the law are intended to provide students with transportation,  free/reduced lunch, waivers of fees, provision of supplies, and other services to enhance their school success and limit disruptions to their education.
