Sevastopol Seniors Participate in Mock Interviews

With more emphasis being placed on schools from the state level regarding Career and Academic planning, all schools are looking for ways to increase student’s readiness for the workplace and future academic challenges.  As a part of Business Life Skills, a class required by all Sevastopol Seniors and taught by Mr. Phillips, seniors were placed in a realistic interview situation with a business man or business woman from the local community.

Planning and preparing for the event involved Mr. Phillips, Mrs. Malcore (school counselor), and Mrs. Tara LeClair, our schools FACS teacher and transition specialist, all working together.  Mrs. LeClair contacted, secured, and organized potential interviewers, Mrs. Malcore created the detailed time schedules and interview times for all of the students, and Mr. Phillips worked with the students on interview etiquette and resume writing.

Many positive comments were made about the mock interview event once it was completed by the seniors.  Initially, many were very nervous, but in the end, most agreed that it was a great experience which will really help them when it comes time to really interview after school.
