High School Student Council Raises Thousands of Dollars to Help our Neighbors in Need

November 23rd marked the 21st anniversary of the annual Jacksonport Thanksgiving Day Parade & Benefit.  The Sevastopol Student Council and Gibraltar DECA worked collaboratively to plan, organize, and raise funds for our neighbors in need.  The students organized the raffle and a core group of Jacksonport residents organized the parade.

Students made banners that were carried in the parade, and many of our band students played in the eclectic parade.  Raffle tickets were sold and donations were collected along the parade route.  The Jacksonport Red Neck Club, Star Wars characters, fire trucks, local businesses, goats, horses, dogs, and many more floats filled the parade route.

The Student Council raised nearly $5000 to help our local neighbors in need this holiday season.

Special thanks to all the volunteers, students, teachers, businesses, and community members that made the parade a success.  We are thankful to living in such a caring community.
