FFA Holds Annual Dairy Breakfast at Organic Dairy Farm
Posted on 07/26/2017

This year the Sevastopol FFA Alumni held the annual Dairy Breakfast at the Wilkie’s Organic Dairy Farm on Sunday July 2nd. This year was unique since the Dairy Breakfast has never been held at an organic dairy farm. FFA and Alumni members started Dairy Breakfast prep months before the actual breakfast to get everything in order for a successful year. The heavy lifting started on Wednesday as the FFA loaded chairs and tables. On Thursday was strawberry picking and hulling. Friday for FFA members meant cracking all the organic eggs needed for Sunday, by hand, and loading and setting up the grills for the breakfast. Saturday was farm clean up and set up, and finally Sunday the day they were all working so hard for began. FFA members met at the Wilkie Farm at an early 4:30 a.m. to set up and do last minute cleaning. Before they knew it the dairy breakfast was off and people were filling their bellies and enjoying live music, a petting zoo, and ice cream. By the time the breakfast was over, 10 cars and 1 ambulance had to be pulled out of the mud.  The 2017 Dairy Breakfast was wet, muddy and gave us lots of headaches. But, even though the conditions were poor, the FFA served an astounding 4,800 people!
