Author Kelly Gallagher Speaks to Door County Teachers

On August 28, Sevastopol School hosted a visit by Kelly Gallagher who has been teaching at the high school level for over 33 years. Mr. Gallagher’s specialty is writing and he has written several books on the topic, specifically, strategies for helping high school students to become better writers. Teachers from Sturgeon Bay and Gibraltar were also invited to attend the session which was held in the Elementary Gym.

Sevastopol Graduates Class of 2017

Sevastopol High School held its graduation commencement on Sunday, June 4, 2017. An audience of more than 300 family members, friends, and staff recognized 43 seniors for their outstanding academic achievement. Class valedictorians included Genevieve Andreae, Yunjeong Lee, Isaiah Spetz, and Lucas Stenzel.

Two Sevastopol Seniors Compete at State WIAA Track & Field

On June 2nd and 3rd Demi Ploor and Olivia Wagner competed in the WIAA State Meet held at UW - LaCrosse. Senior Demi Ploor competed in the pole vault competition and Senior Olivia Wagner competed in both the 100 and 400 meter dashes.

Governor Walker Visits Sevastopol School

On Tuesday, May 30, Governor Scott Walker visited Sevastopol School. He had been invited several months ago by the elementary Destination Imagination Team that had opened the school store “Caring is Sharing”. Joining him in the multi-purpose room were all of the DI Teams and Coaches that competed this year. After a few words from School Board President Lisa Bieri, Governor Walker presented a certificate of achievement to the DI elementary team and their coach, Sarah Olson.

DI Teams Finish 6th and 11th at Global Finals 2017
05/29/2017
Despite some rainy conditions and off campus housing challenges, the Sevastopol Destination Imagination Teams have made us proud. The High School team of Rabach Squared, managed a top ten showing, finishing 6th out of a field of 63. The Middle School team Tim & the Humans barely missed finishing top ten with a close 11th place finish out of over 70 teams.
